Rating rules may come and go, but speed is forever
Each aspect of design- the hull, keel, rudder, sail plan- integrates to define the successful balance between speed and control - two often contradictory criteria. As a result, our definition of performance is the successful combination of speed with good manners and control, along with functional deck layouts and ergonomically-sound interiors.
Whilst we focus on these aspects, we also appreciate an owner's desire to be competitive according to current rating rules, and have had considerable success under IRC. Within this rule, stability is promoted rather than penalised so a broad spectrum of yachts is accommodated fairly - but all well balanced and well proportioned . Under this rule we have designed the production Reflex 38, the 46ft Orient Express, the sports boats Full Pelt X and Big Grin.
Performance isn't always about the race track, and we look to bring performance into all of our sail boats, demonstrated in the recently converted 60ft Euphony, our 80ft Beach Club charter yacht, and our 60ft canting keel performance cruiser for which ultimate speed is not the primary consideration, ...but we can't help ourselves!
